Wednesday Tip: Superfood Smoothie
Four healthful “superfoods” – soy, blueberries, yogurt, and orange make this a nutrient-packed breakfast. For an extra boost, blend in a handful of spinach leaves.
In a blender, combine 3/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup ice, 1/2 cup plain low-fat regular or Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons soymilk, 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, and 1 tablespoon honey. Blend until smooth, scraping down sides of blender as needed. Serve immediately. Serves 1

We got a facelift
Nonprofit Connectors has been in operation now for four years, sharing information, and connecting new nonprofit owners with each other. This year we are taking it up a notch!
We’ve given our logo and our website a bit of an update. Our team is posed to assist you in not only getting answers, but in getting connected. So, later this year stay tuned for the addition of the Community Connector. It will be a members-only portal where connections, resources, and information will be exchanged.
We will be reviving the Wednesday Free Consultation Calls. Do you have a burning question about starting a nonprofit, set up an appointment using our Tungle link on the website.
So, what else would you like to see? We would love to know what’s holding you back or interfering with your ability to move your nonprofit forward.

Wednesday Tip: Quotable Quote of the Day
“Get in. Not choose but get in. Be part of it and then move up. I’ve always had that feeling about things. And it upsets me so much when people want to get into something but they’re too darned choosy about what they want to do. Get in while you have a change to at least look and see, and out of it might come something.” ~ Walt Disney
Wednesday Tip: “Hide The Turkey”
Tomorrow, the United States celebrates Thanksgiving. If you’re like me, you’re always looking for a great way to use up those Thanksgiving leftovers.
Here’s an idea: Turkey Cranberry Ring
2 tubes (8oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 C chopped cooked turkey
1 1/4 C shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 C Craisins (sweetened dried cranberries)
3 T snipped fresh parsley
1/2 C real mayo
2 T honey Dijon mustard
1/2 t ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a bowl, combine turkey, 1 C of cheese, cranberries, parsley, mayo, mustard and black pepper. Mix well.
Open crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. On a round pizza stone or other round pan, arrange triangles with bases facing the center and tips slightly draped over the side of the pan. There should be about a 5″ diameter hole in the center.
Scoop turkey filling and place along the bases of the triangles. Take tips of triangles, place over the dough and lightly press into the bases, forming a ring shape. There will be gaps where the filling is visible.
Bake 20-25 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Remove from oven and serve.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday Tip: Schedule Your Work
That sounds so simple, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, most people don’t “schedule” their work – they schedule interruptions to prevent their work from happening.
Let’s say you have a 40-hour week. That’s 40 hours of time to do your job. Now look at your calendar. If your job is to spend a good chunk of your 40 hours in meetings scheduled for you by other people, then you are fine. If your job is to produce things (e.g. social media postings, research new ventures, create documents, etc.), then why isn’t the time to do that on your calendar?
Give your work the respect it needs and schedule it in your calendar. Stop relocating the real work you do to the time between interruptions and see how your productivity and time management improves.
Wednesday Tip: Quotable Quote of The Day
“The secret of juggling many responsibilities is organization. Key men are responsible to me and constantly in touch with me to see that I’m there at the right time. These administrators keep things running.” ~ Walt Disney
Wednesday Tip: Expensify
Expensify is a web-based service that can help you stop manually entering expenses altogether.
If you charge your expenses, Expensify can import them from your credit card. You can also opt to use Expensify’s mobile apps to keep track of your expenses as you go. You can send a text message to track cash expenses, upload receipts images for processing or send receipts to your account via email.
This system is a time saver for employees completing expense reports, but also for the employers, who can use the system to directly reimburse employees and contractors to their bank accounts.
Wednesday Tip: Prezi
Check out this tool that can jazz up your Powerpoint presentations, and make them more interesting at the same time.
Prezi puts a twist on PowerPoint by taking a large canvas approach instead of a slide-based approach. Essentially, you can storyboard your masterpiece. You can create and demonstrate in a way that more closely follows how your brain works. You can actually tell a story while making your presentation. The other bonus: this application allows for group collaboration.
What is Prezi? Check this out and tell us what you think.
