Fun to give

I love this time of year. Most people are thinking of ways to give, and here is where they turn to nonprofit organizations.
It is important for every Board to consider fundraising. Don’t wait until hearts are soften in November and December to start asking. You should be asking all year long. Fundraising is a critical function of the Board. Some organizations take this so seriously that they purposely recruit Board members with large rolodexes.
You want to be sure to have fundraising expectations on your list of requirements for Board members.

I thought this was a really smart thing to say to nonprofits. I’m not a nonprofit, but it makes sense that any organization that does fundraising should have a yearly plan.
